Our Story
Fombina Agroecology Development Initiative (FADI) was founded through the collective commitment of a group of dedicated individuals who believe deeply in the power of agroecology to transform food systems in sub Saharan Africa. What began as a shared vision has grown into a functioning organisation through the personal time, effort, and financial contributions of its founding team and Board of Trustees. Long before external funding was available, members invested their own resources to support field activities, community engagement, and the development of this platform, ensuring that the organisation could take root and grow.
The FADI team is composed of enthusiastic professionals from both academia and industry, united by a passion for sustainable agriculture, food security, and climate resilience. Our members include researchers, educators, practitioners, and development professionals with experience across agricultural science, environmental management, community development, and policy. This blend of academic insight and practical experience allows FADI to design programmes that are evidence based, locally relevant, and grounded in real world application.
At the heart of FADI's work is a strong belief in collaboration and long term impact. We work closely with farmers, communities, and partners to promote agroecological practices that restore soil health, enhance biodiversity, and improve livelihoods. Our governance structure ensures transparency, accountability, and strategic oversight, guided by a Board of Trustees committed to ethical leadership and sustainable development.
